Well, this wasn’t the year we all expected, was it? How are you? I hope you’re doing okay. I feel like a snail, slowly emerging from its shell, but ready to retreat at the slightest sound.
After our positive move at the being year to a new, bright and central hub, ready for an exciting, optimistic year, I was left shocked and upset to be closing down only seven weeks on later on March 20th due to the pandemic.
At that time, I assumed, like many, we’d be closed for maybe six/eight weeks. Oh, how wrong I was. Over the following four months, I’ve enjoyed the slower pace. I have still connected with many clients, via our social sites and also by holding therapy sessions online, which worked well. I moved my monthly meditation online and 11 of you joined May’s class.
Although the country began opening up again in May, we had to wait for the government to give the go-ahead to reopen wellbeing centres, which finally came in mid-July. Over this time I have had a chance to re-evaluate my business and look a how it can go forward into this ‘new normal’, continuing to be successful and fulfil my aim of helping people to commit to their wellbeing. After a lot of soul searching, I decided the best way forward for me, would be to close The Haven Wellbeing Hub. Below is a Facebook live I posted on July 31st explaining this decision.
It was always my aim the Hub should be a community of therapists, teachers and instructors providing a wide range of therapeutic services to our clients and enabling them to have a one-stop-shop for all their wellbeing needs. I feel that under the current circumstances, this isn’t going to be able to continue. People are not going to attend classes and events until people can congregate in more significant numbers, and there is more confidence that CV-19 is not a threat. I also now need to be able to manage the number of clients and therapists we have using the premises, which is limited to one therapist and client at a time.
I am committed to my clients and feel comfortable to go back to work, taking all the current precautionary measures, so will now working as Katie Palmer Wellbeing at the same location for the time being. Allison Knight is working with me and from 14th September we will be open as follows;
Monday 10:30 – 14:30
Tuesday 14:00 – 20:00
Wednesday 18:00 – 20:00
Thursday 10:00 – 17:00
Friday 10:30 – 14:30
Saturday 9:00 – 12:00
Same day booking will not be available and all appointments must be paid in advance, which can be done through the new website or by bank transfer.
The Haven’s wonderful shop will continue as a new online shop www.havenwellbeingshop.co.uk which is open and will be fully stocked shortly, let me know any products you can’t do without.
I look forward to seeing you soon and working together towards your wellbeing.
Katie
