Aromatherapy is the practice of using the natural oils extracted from
flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of a plant to enhance
psychological and physical well-being.
The inhaled aroma from
these "essential" oils is widely believed to stimulate brain function.
Essential oils can also be absorbed through the skin, where they travel
through the bloodstream and can promote whole-body healing.
Indian head massage is based on the Ayurvedic system of healing which has been practised in India for over a thousand years.
head massage is especially good for relieving stress, tension, fatigue,
insomnia, headaches, migraine and sinusitis. Clients report that the
experience is deeply calming and relaxing, leaving them feeling
energised and revitalised and better able to concentrate.
Over a 50 minute session you will receive a shoulder and neck massage to relieve tension this then progresses on to a stimulating head and scalp massage followed by a relaxing face massage.
A complete Indian head massage will probably take between 40-50
minutes. In an Indian head massage, you are likely to have oils rubbed into
your scalp. You may be asked whether you have dry, greasy, normal hair
so that the therapist can use an oil which will most improve your hair's
shine and texture. It's worth mentioning, too, if you have dandruff, or
thinning hair, as some oils are can help improve these conditions.
Be prepared for the fact that some of the massage will be quite firm -
it can be quite an odd sensation to have your skull massaged, for
example - but stick with it. You will feel really relaxed and serene
afterwards. The results are worth it.
Katie Palmer, Sarah Thomas & Sadie Lee offer Indian Head Massage - £50 per session.
Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for
prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall
wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced
during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches
and oedema (or swelling).
In addition, massage for pregnant women
reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph
circulation, helps to relax nervous tension -- which aids in better
sleep -- and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal

Swedish Massage therapy is the modality that comes to mind when most
people think about massage. As the best-known type of bodywork performed
today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to
relax the entire body.
This is accomplished by rubbing the
muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to
the heart. But Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish
massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen
in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and
flexibility while easing tension.
Deep Tissue Massage is firmer
massage than a Swedish Massage, working to release tension in your
muscles by applying a mixture of firm pressure and fluid movements bring
relief to tight muscle and adding to to relax the body.
Sports Massage works deep in the muscles, realigning
the muscle fibres and connective tissue, and flushing away the toxins.
Regular sessions will increase joint mobility and flexibility, and
reduce the risk of injury during exercise.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage improves and activates the lymphatic system through a series of manoeuvres that promote lymphatic flow inducing the removal of waste substances. Lymphatic drainage massage is especially useful for individuals who seem to suffer regularly from common illnesses like colds and flu. It is also recommended for people who lead sedentary lifestyles, or those who want to reduce puffiness or swelling. It has been cited as having a positive effect on problem skin, cellulite, dysfunctional respiratory systems and people with low energy.
